the Hutt Valley's own orchestra.
The final concert for the year was 'Humouresque'.
It was a delightful concert to end the year. None of the pieces were serious, although some such as Leroy Anderson's "The Typewriter" were carried out with full classical majesty and demeanour.
Throughout there were songs from Ruth Armishaw, Sharon Yearsley, Lydia Laine-Smith, Stewart Mann and Richard Armishaw, all from the mock-serious side of music.
The evening ended with Recipe for Disaster, the piece commissioned for our 50th Anniversary (now 5 years ago). It had two competing conductors, but it was a fair fight - they had half an orchestra each. From the photo above, you can see the conductors are busy controlling their wayward orchestra members...
