" From the Musicians' Gallery "

Our last concert was a benefit for Te Omanga Hospice, who give support and care to those living with a terminal illness. It is just a kilometre further down Woburn Road from St James where the concert took place.

We had a double orchestra concert, in combination with Gallery Orchestra. Players in Gallery are drawn from participants in the Saturday morning instrument classes. Our own Lynne Scott normally conducts them, but this time they had just completed a workshop under the tutelage of Owen Clarke.

The concert was a great success, with $1847 able to be given to Te Omanga. The Hutt Valley Orchestra would like to thank the Pelorus Trust for a grant to cover the major costs of the concert.
